To register to vote, you must be aged 17 by the next 30 November and be a British citizen, Irish citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or an eligible EU citizen living in the UK.
If you move house, or change your name for any reason, you should register to vote again. You can register online. This is the fastest, easiest and simplest way to register or update your details.
If you cannot register online, you can complete a paper registration form and return it to the Electoral Office. The form can be downloaded at this link Registration form (PDF)
When we receive your application (online or on paper) we will check your details against official data. If your details match your application will be approved. If your details do not match you will need to provide evidence documents. A list of acceptable evidence documents is available at Registration evidence documents (PDF). We can accept scanned copies or photos of evidence documents via email at evidence@eoni.org.uk.
If you apply to register at a new address you will be removed from the register at your previous address.
