Consultation - Polling Places for combined Assembly & Council Elections (6 May 2027) - Electoral Office NI
The Electoral Office for Northern Ireland has launched a consultation on proposed Polling Places for the combined Assembly and Council Elections, scheduled to take place on 6 May 2027.
The proposed Polling Places provide voters with the ability to vote in the same Polling Place for both elections. The consultation seeks views on whether the proposed Polling Places provides electors with reasonable and practical facilities for voting, while supporting accessibility, convenience and efficient election delivery.
Why are we consulting?
To support the delivery of the combined elections in May 2027, the Electoral Office has developed polling arrangements intended to allow electors to vote in both elections at a single polling place.
We would like your views on:
any comments on specific Polling Places and alternative locations;
information regarding any large-scale external issues (public realm works, events etc.) planned for 6 May 2027 – election day; and
views on a future (beyond the 2027 elections) rationalisation of Polling Places.
Consultation Period:
Opens: 31 July 2026
Closes: 2 October 2026.
