An Electoral Identity Card is only supplied for the sole use of voting in person at elections - an Electoral Identity Card cannot be supplied for any other reason.

Before you apply, check if you are registered to vote and that you do not have any other form of accepted photo identification that can be used to vote - full details are online at What Photo ID do I need to vote?
The online service has a number of privacy conditions. These are described in our Privacy/Data page, which also contains details of our conditions of service.
The online service is currently limited to using a picture of another form of ID (Blue Badge, Student Card, Passport from outside UK/Ireland, Proof of Age Standards Scheme or expired Electoral ID card) to validate your digital photo. You can Contact Us to request a paper form if you want to ask an Elected Representative to validate your photo.
