Corporate Social Responsibility
Business In The Community
The Electoral Office is committed to being a responsible organisation, both in terms of how we carry out our functions and how we contribute to the wider community around us. Our employees believe it is important to work for a socially responsible organisation. In addition to sponsoring a designated charity, we are members of Business in the Community which is committed to improving the positive impact that organisations like ours can have on society. Fundraising 2011
The Electoral Office has chosen the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice as its designated charity for 2011.
The Northern Ireland Children's Hospice cares for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and supports their families and those close to them. Care is provided across Northern Ireland.
There are over 750 life-limited children and young people living in Northern Ireland. Life-limiting conditions include conditions such as Muscular Dystrophy and genetic disorders such as Batten’s Disease, and life-threatening conditions such as cancer and heart disease. These children have very complex needs often requiring 24 hour care and many will die before reaching adulthood.
